BROCKWAY: Brockway Little League has announced updated age division guidelines aimed at balancing safety, player development, and fair competition as the upcoming baseball and softball season approaches.
League officials say the revised policy allows certain players to move up to a higher division under specific age-based conditions.
Ages 12 And Under
Players age 12 and younger may move up one division only if they are within one year of the league age for that higher division.
For example:
- A league-age 5-year-old would not qualify for coach pitch (ages 7–8).
- A league-age 6-year-old would qualify because they fall within one year of that division.
Similarly:
- A 7-year-old would not qualify for minors (ages 9–10).
- An 8-year-old would be eligible under the one-year guideline.
Ages 13 – 16
For older players, ages 13 through 16, the league permits moving up if the player is within two years of the age division.
For instance, a 13-year-old would be eligible to play in the senior league division (ages 15–16) because they fall within the two-year window.
How To Request A Move-Up
Parents who believe their child is ready to compete at a higher level must submit a request by March 15.
Requests should include:
