Mya Renninger, the daughter of 63-year-old Michael Renninger, has confirmed that her father, who had been missing for over a week, has been found deceased in Clarion County.

In a heartfelt message posted on social media Sunday, May 19, Mya wrote, “My sweet daddy paints the skies now,” without sharing additional details surrounding his death. A GoFundMe page created the same day indicates that Michael’s body was discovered inside his vehicle on May 18.

Michael Renninger, a resident of Brookville, was last heard from the morning of May 9 following a phone call with his daughter. Mya reported arriving at his home shortly after the call, only to find a concerning note and several personal belongings left behind. Items included his phone, Social Security card, financial papers, and a list of outstanding debts.

Surveillance footage had shown Renninger withdrawing $100 from an ATM at the East Main Street Sunoco on the day he disappeared. His dark blue 2014 GMC Terrain SUV, which bore a PennWest Clarion “Ernie the Eagle” sticker, was not seen again until it was reportedly located this past weekend.

According to statements made by Mya to local news outlet exploreJeffersonPA.com, her father’s remains were found in the Knox area. As of now, no formal statement has been issued by the Clarion County Coroner or local authorities regarding the cause or circumstances of death. The Brookville Borough Police Department only noted that Michael Renninger had been found, without elaborating.

Throughout the search, Mya actively used social media to raise awareness about her father’s disappearance, distributing digital flyers and urging the public for help. She had officially reported him as a missing and endangered person shortly after he vanished.

The GoFundMe fundraiser has been set up to help cover funeral and related expenses. Authorities have yet to provide any further updates regarding the case.
